Peanut cake

Yesterday while wrapping up a show at the mango ranch restaurant and sports bar in kingston, i saw a rastaman walking by with one of my favourite snacks a peanut cake. While this cake is not actually baked in an oven but rather done by, boiling the peanuts in sugar and water usually along with a hint of ginger untill the mixture thickens and begin to caramelize. After the mixture thickens the heat is removed and spoonfuls seperated to cool and form small some what hard cakes more like a candy texture and appeal. A sweet savoury delite enjoyed by many persons througout the jamaican society. Peanut cakes can be found almost anywhere in jamaica more easily found however on the street sides or inside bus parks. Try some if you have'nt already p.s. The ones on the street side usually taste best.

White bones

So i told you i was gonna go to one of my favourite restaurants in kingston yesterday. As i said, it was truly a treat i had my favourite, steamed fish in coconut sauce. It was truly savoury and flooded my paletts with joy. Just remembering the flavour of the thick creamy coconut sauce with okras and nicely sliced carrots swimming around, alongside my side order of turn cornmeal (palenta) baked with gungo peas. You really need to try it out white bones sea food restaurant located at mary browns corner, thats actually the intersection of constant spring road and mannings hill road in kingston. The atmosphere is truly relaxing. Its so relaxing you would swear that the ocean was close by. Decorated with thatched roof, fishing nets, miniature waterfalls and a lovely koi pond surely helps to hypnotise you. The service is world class you will truly feel at home. The price very affordable, i guarantee after enjoying your meal you will wanna pay more than you are billed. So head on down or over when you have the chance, you wont be disappointed there is something there for everyone. Fish any way you want it, lobster in season, oysters, conch, shrimp and so much more. I love food so you can take my word for it, have dinner or lunch there you will truely love it.
